Safety Worxs is seeking an experienced Project Safety Manager to support a major highway improvement project in Warren, TX. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity with approximately 16 months remaining to substantial completion.
This is a project-level leadership role with no direct reports, requiring a strong field presence and the ability to independently drive safety performance across a large-scale infrastructure project.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all on-site safety efforts for a highway/heavy civil project
Implement and enforce site-specific safety programs aligned with OSHA standards
Conduct daily field inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
Identify unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions in real time
Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and workforce engagement initiatives
Oversee high-risk activities including excavation, heavy equipment, and traffic control
Support incident investigations and perform root cause analysis
Maintain accurate safety documentation and compliance reporting
Partner with project leadership and subcontractors to reinforce safety accountability
Qualifications:
5+ years of construction safety management experience
Prior highway or heavy civil experience strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards
CHST and OSHA 500 preferred
Proven ability to operate independently as the lead safety professional on-site
Strong field leadership and communication skills
