
HIM OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE

Under the general supervision of the HIM Operations Supervisor and Operations Team Leader, the Health Information Management (HIM) Operations Associate is responsible for the timely processing of patient records by ensuring receipt of all records, reviewing records for quality and identifiers, and preparing documents for scanning. The role also involves scanning and indexing records, verifying data integrity with the highest level of quality possible, and coordinating information with the Master Patient Index and patient registration modules.
Core Job Responsibilities
Collect and prepare documents for scanning (patient identifiers, remove staples).
Review each electronic image with the hard copy to confirm image quality, appropriate order, and rotation.
Index the image to the correct encounter and document type (delete, add, replace, revise).
Monitor work queue(s) daily and ensure timely processing of all assignments in the queue(s).
Perform other duties as required.
Education/Experience Requirements
REQUIRED:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
PREFERRED:
Previous experience in a hospital medical record department or similar medical office setting
Compensation
Pay Range $18.56 - $23 per hour
