Job Summary
This position is responsible for the overall operation of the grinding machine and supplying good, quality product with the ability to meet deadlines in a safe manner. Additional responsibilities include assistance with creating SOP and other production related documentation, inventory data‑entry, and cross‑training into other job functions as needed. This position requires routine attendance at departmental, production, safety, and company meetings.

Duties and Responsibilities

Operate the grinding machine which includes the bagger, grinders, and dust collector with minimal supervision.

Conduct visual inspections and perform general preventive maintenance of the grinding area, tools, and equipment.

Login to computer and review orders, power on equipment, and monitor operation.

Operate bagger: ensure proper supply of empty bags, label bags, fill to 55 lbs., and repeat as needed.

Operate grinder: place bin on belt, fill grinder, check for contamination, operate shakers, fit empty palletizer with skids, and move full skids to warehouse.

Enter production data into computer at close of shift.

Conduct extensive cleaning of the grinding machine and associated equipment after all grinding material is bagged.

Adhere to and follow all quality guidelines; continually check product for quality throughout manufacturing.

Operate fork truck to lift/transport raw materials and finished products; use impact wrenches/pneumatic equipment while adhering to safety requirements.

Maintain clean work environment by using air hose at every color change to avoid contamination, keep tools and equipment orderly, and report any maintenance issues.

Cross‑train into other job functions and provide assistance as necessary or during downtime.

Utilize computer to login, enter/review production data, and work orders as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

High School Diploma/GED or 4 years experience as a machine operator/manufacturing.

English fluency (read, write, speak) and strong communication skills.

Ability to multitask in a stressful environment and adapt to changing demands.

Six‑month experience operating a fork truck.

Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

Ability to read and understand units of measure and perform basic math functions.

Comfort with data entry and basic computer skills; ERP experience preferred.

Safety conscious and able to perform work responsibilities safely.

Willingness to work overtime to meet operational requirements.

Ability to safely perform physical requirements of the role, wear mask/goggles and hearing protection, and work from heights.

Work Environment
This position may operate in a manufacturing setting with conditions of high‑pressure air, steam, gas, hazardous fumes, extreme heat and temperature variations, loud noise, exposure to dangerous machinery, dirty work environment, and/or dust. The position requires wearing PPE including safety glasses, steel toe/composite boots, and earplugs.

Physical and Mental Demands

Prolonged periods of standing, walking, using tools, and performing repetitive actions including bending, reaching, climbing, stooping, lifting, pounding, pushing, and pulling.

Exert up to 55 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Manual dexterity to move material and operate equipment.

Effective communication (write, speak) with supervisors and others.

Adequate hearing ability to receive work instructions and respond to changes.

Attention to detail and time management to comply with scheduled work time and maintain productivity.

Ability to understand and abide safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
