Job Summary
This position is responsible for the coordination of rerolling activities. Responsibilities will include: prioritizing jobs to meet on‑time shipments, maximizing resource efficiency, assisting with quality checks, ERP transactions, coordinating breaks to eliminate downtime, ensuring daily work instruction adherence, and providing general direction to reroller operators and assistants. The role also oversees and ensures timely and complete execution of on‑the‑job training for reroller operators and assistants and requires routine attendance at departmental, production, safety, and company meetings.

Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate work across all rerolling resources to meet 99% on time shipment target

Combine released orders to improve operational efficiency

Pre‑stage material for rerollers

Ensure operators are trained in and perform the required safety and quality checks

Ensure timely completion of OJT checklists for operators and assistants

Verify that areas are restocked at end of shift

Correct data entry errors as needed

Operate machine with minimal supervision to reroll material:

Conduct a visual inspection and perform general preventive maintenance of the assigned machine

Set machine to run required thickness to ordered length

Power on machine

Feed peeled material through machine

Fulfill order according to production order roll length

Plastic‑wrap finished roll as required

Place scrap material in regrind bin or dumpster

Identify and stage finished roll for put‑away using appropriate equipment and label as required

Core preparation responsibilities (apply tape, apply foam wedges, etc.)

Adhere to and follow all quality guidelines. Insure that all operators continually check product for quality throughout the manufacturing process and that the measurement and chart comparison documentation is filled out properly.

Operate hoist and forklift to lift/transport materials and finished products while adhering to all power industrial equipment rules and safety requirements.

Utilize computer at workstation to log in, enter/review production data and work orders as required.

Cross‑train into other job functions providing assistance as necessary or during downtime within the department. Train other re‑roller operators as needed on proper operation, safety practices, and quality procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

High School Diploma/GED required

4 years of machine operator/manufacturing experience required; 1 year rerolling experience required

English fluency (read, write, speak); strong communication skills required (written/verbal)

Proven ability to multitask in a stressful environment (dirty, confined spaces, strict timelines, etc.), attention to detail, and adapt to changing demands

Read and understand units of measure

Ability to perform basic math functions

Must be safety conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe manner

Must be able to work overtime to meet operational requirements

Able to safely perform related physical requirements/demands of the role

12‑month forklift and hoist experience required

Demonstrated computer literacy (inventory data entry, read work orders, etc.); ERP experience preferred

Work Environment Characteristics

Manufacturing Environment: This position may operate in a manufacturing setting with conditions of high‑pressure air/steam/gas, hazardous gas/chemical fumes, extreme heat and temperature variations, loud noise, exposure to dangerous machinery, dirty work environment and/or exposure to dust (pigment). The position is required to wear PPE including, but not limited to safety glasses, steel toe/composite boots and earplugs.

Physical and Mental Demands

Prolonged periods of standing, walking, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending, reaching, climbing, stooping, lifting, pounding, pushing and/or pulling. Move throughout the work location to comply with safety requirements.

Exert up to 130 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move object.

Manual dexterity to move material and operate equipment.

Communicate effectively (write, speak) with supervisors and others on performance and safety concerns.

Adequate hearing ability to receive work instruction and to respond to changes in work environment.

Attention to detail to complete work assignments.

Time management to comply with scheduled work time and maintain productivity requirements.

Ability to understand and abide by safety policies and maintain a safe work environment. Ability to move throughout the work location to comply with safety requirements.
