Summary : The Field Tech is responsible for the installation of doors, frames hardware and specialty building products on commercial construction job sites. This role operates in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment and requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Install Division 8 (doors, frames, hardware) and Division 10 (toilet accessories, partitions, lockers, and related items) in accordance with project specifications and company standards.

Follow instructions and work assignments provided by the Shop Supervisor.

Work independently and collaboratively with team members to complete installation projects.

Accurately track and record labor time and materials used for each project.

Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and job-related equipment.

Perform sanding, painting, staining, and finishing of doors in accordance with work orders.

Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition and report malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.

Provide professional and courteous customer service on job sites.

Perform general maintenance and housekeeping duties in shop and office areas as assigned.

Attend required trainings, including safety and job site-specific requirements.

Comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable safety regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Key capabilities include:

Knowledge of and ability to safely use hand and power tools applicable to the trade.

Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.

Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and measurement interpretation.

Ability to accurately read and use measuring tools such as tape measures and rulers.

Ability to exercise independent judgment and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.

Valid driver’s license required and must be insurable under company policy.

Prior experience or knowledge in the door, frame, and hardware industry preferred but not required.
