Human Resources Intern (Part-Time)
Position Summary
The Human Resources Intern will provide administrative and project support to the Human Resources (HR) department. This position will assist primarily with document management and the transition of employee records from paper files to a secure digital format. The intern will gain exposure to HR operations within a healthcare environment while supporting key organizational initiatives.
Schedule
This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling. Weekly hours will vary based on availability and departmental needs.
Key Responsibilities
Employee File Digitization Project
Assist with the organization, preparation, and scanning of employee personnel files.
Support the conversion of paper employee records into digital files in accordance with HR and compliance standards.
Ensure documents are properly labeled, indexed, and stored in the appropriate electronic folders or HR systems.
Verify that scanned documents are complete, legible, and properly categorized.
Document Management & Filing
Organize and maintain physical employee personnel files.
File and archive HR documents in accordance with retention policies.
Assist with preparing files for secure storage or shredding when appropriate.
Administrative HR Support
Provide general administrative support to the HR department as needed.
Assist with document preparation, data entry, and record updates.
Help maintain the confidentiality and security of employee records.
Support special HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
Exposure to HR processes within a healthcare setting.
Experience with HR recordkeeping, compliance, and document management practices.
Introduction to HR systems and digital records management.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information.
Basic computer skills, including familiarity with scanning equipment and file management systems.
