Who You Are / What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a proactive, organized, and compassionate House Manager & Family Assistant to support our home and family. The ideal candidate is trustworthy, patient, and comfortable working with children, especially in a calm and gentle manner. You should be someone who enjoys managing household tasks, such as meal prep, laundry, and organization, with a keen eye for detail and a willingness to take initiative. Flexibility and reliability are essential, and occasional date night coverage. A passion for creating a calm and organized environment and a willingness to pitch in where needed will be highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Household Organization & Maintenance
Maintain household organization systems (closets, pantry, toys)
Reset and tidy rooms daily; maintain overall neatness
Oversee household schedules and calendars
Manage household inventory and support seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding etc.)
Prepare and coordinate donation drop offs
Support packing/unpacking for travel or seasonal transitions
Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas
Maintain indoor plants
Inventory Management & Errands
Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household supplies
Create and manage running household supply lists
Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)
Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping
Handle package pickup, mail sorting, and deliveries
Meal Support
Plan and prep meals for 2-3 dinners per week, focusing on batch cooking
Ensure kitchen tidiness, including post-prep cleanup
Grocery shopping for meal-related items
Laundry & Linens
Full-service laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and stain removal
Manage linens (rotating bedding, refreshing towels, etc.)
Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies
Occasional dry clean drop off and pick up
Family Support & Child Assistance
Occasional school pick-up when family’s primary back-up is unavailable
Provide light childcare support and engage in calm, low-energy activities (e.g., board games, guitar)
Help with child-related laundry or errands
Pet Care
Walk the puppy, manage care for other pets as needed
Schedule and coordinate vet, grooming, or pet care appointments
Administer medications for pets, when needed
Ensure pet supplies are stocked and organized
Vehicle Management
Schedule and oversee maintenance, oil changes, and inspections
Ensure vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and organized
Track registration, insurance, and service schedules
Deep Cleaning & Special Projects
Tackle occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards, etc.)
Maintain and refresh specific zones (entryways, garage, mudroom)Clean humidifiers, washing machines, and air purifiers monthly
Organize special projects: toy storage, seasonal decorations, gear rotation
Administrative & Personal Assistant Support
Help with travel planning, scheduling, and logistics
Manage family calendars and reminders
Assist with coordination of events, appointments, and guest prep
