Job Summary
The Instructional Technologist is a vital and supportive member of the PCSD team, working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to ensure all students receive the education they need to succeed both today and tomorrow. This role is performed within a school environment, overseen by the school principal, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount.
All staff are expected to fully adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, continuously demonstrating a strong understanding of the tasks and responsibilities required by their roles and embodying a commitment to the best interests of our students.
Qualifications
Must hold or be eligible for a Georgia Level 5 certification or higher (Instructional Technology, preferred)
Experience and knowledge with Information Technology and K‑12 educational applications, digital platforms, and technologies
Self‑motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities
Proven ability to be flexible and work well, both independently and as part of a team
Knowledge & Duties
Provides strategies, training, coaching, and support for integrating technologies and technology standards for instructional delivery models and curricular resources for K‑12 education.
Supports and informs the delivery of instruction to create a rigorous, relevant, and engaging instructional program through targeted support and implementation of innovative technological solutions focused on high levels of student achievement.
Models learning skills, methodologies, and digital classroom tools in support of the Georgia Performance Standards and the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards.
Assists in the implementation of district and local school technology initiatives through evaluation, recommendation and selection, testing, training, modeling, coaching and support.
Collaborates on the school and district levels to implement a comprehensive technology plan, analyzes data, and recommends next steps to improve student outcomes.
Develops, coordinates, and/or delivers professional development utilizing district approved applications and tools to support school and district needs.
Assists schools in utilizing student technology abilities data to improve instruction and increase proficiency.
Maintains an active awareness of emerging trends and participates in professional development and research related to instructional technology.
Performs other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee.
