DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented
Diesel Technician
to join our Distribution business in
Kearny, NJ .
Monday - Friday;
Will initially start on 7AM - 3:30PM shift before eventually moving to 11AM - 7:30PM —Applicants must be open to working both shifts.
Impact of the Role
Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
Maintain own tools
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
Demonstrates an understanding of access to engine repair process information sources
Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level
Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts
Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses, Certifications
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Minimal level of workshop experience required
Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
QUALIFICATIONS
This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to ongoing random drug and alcohol testing.
