Overview
Our client is a fast‑growing personal injury law firm seeking a meticulous and experienced Legal Accounting & Trust Consultant to conduct a critical cleanup and optimization project. The candidate will audit the current financial state, reconcile Trust (IOLTA) and Operating accounts, and resolve check backlogs and trust discrepancies.
Compensation & Schedule
Pay: $50 - $60 per hour. Shift: First. Work hours: 8 AM – 4 PM. Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Responsibilities
Forensic Trust Audit:
Reconcile the IOLTA/Trust account by cross‑referencing bank statements against the internal ledger to identify uncleared, stale‑dated, or misplaced checks.
Flow of Funds Management:
Oversee the movement of funds from initial settlement deposit through to the final trust‑to‑operating transfer.
Settlement Statement Accuracy:
Audit and calculate complex settlement distributions involving client nets, medical provider liens, and attorney contingency fees.
Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure all accounting activities meet State Bar requirements for three‑way reconciliation and audit‑ready record keeping.

Qualifications
Experience: 6+ years in personal injury accounting workflows, preferably with NEOS or Filevine.
Experience level: Experienced.
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
