Job Description
Summary and relationship to the curriculum:
All classified positions will strengthen the delivery of instruction in support of the system’s mission. Family Engagement Liaisons serve as liaisons between schools, parents and community organizations and endeavor to increase parental involvement in schools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitates workshops, classes, and activities for parents and provides materials and educational resources to families related to parental
Develops, analyzes, and distributes the results of parent surveys to parents, school staff, and district
Promotes shared decision‑making opportunities by involving parents in the planning and budgeting of parent engagement
Maintains ongoing relationships with community organizations that provide services and resources in support of our schools’ educational
Maintains records of all parent involvement activities, reports, surveys, program evaluations, and parent
Promotes a family‑friendly school climate and maintains an inviting and welcoming Parent Resource Center for visiting
Communicates with the faculty, staff and administrators to determine school needs in the area of parent engagement and to share updates on parent involvement best
Participates in professional development at the local, regional, and/or state level and redelivers ideas and experiences with school staff and
Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal or Director of Federal
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
Associate’s degree or two years education is preferred; experience working jointly with families and schools and/or experience working in a Title I school
Certificate or License Required:
None.
Language Skills:
Must have ability to read and comprehend job‑specific technical information, simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and position‑specific manuals. Must have ability to write correspondence and reports. Must have ability to effectively articulate and present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills:
Must have ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. Must have ability to conduct position‑related data analysis. Must have ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Must be able to facilitate the problem‑solving processes. Must have ability to synthesize workable options from given facts, and assist in the development of workable solutions.
Technical Ability:
Must have considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office and other job‑specified technologies.
Customer Service Skills:
Must be able to interact effectively with colleagues, administrators, teachers, staff members, students using tactful yet effective skills. Must collaborate well with others and display a cooperative attitude. Must be service‑oriented and actively seek ways to assist others.
Professional Requirements:
Must serve as a role model to students. Appropriate dress and grooming consistent with established standards required.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, and lift. Occasionally, the employee must crouch or kneel. The employee must be able to exert or lift up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Frequent travel involves exposure to traffic and outdoor elements.
Travel to home sites, school sites, and other locations is required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently working in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
