Location: Warner Robins, Georgia (Houston County Schools)

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $15.73 to $24.68 per hour

Summary
All classified positions strengthen the delivery of instruction in support of the system’s mission. Family Engagement Liaisons serve as liaisons between schools, parents, and community organizations and endeavor to increase parental involvement in schools.

Job Responsibilities

Facilitates workshops, classes, and activities for parents and provides materials and educational resources to families related to parenting.

Develops, analyzes, and distributes results of parent surveys to parents, school staff, and the district.

Promotes shared decision‑making opportunities by involving parents in the planning and budgeting of parent engagement.

Maintains ongoing relationships with community organizations that provide services and resources in support of the schools’ educational mission.

Maintains records of all parent involvement activities, reports, surveys, program evaluations, and parent engagement data.

Promotes a family‑friendly school climate and maintains an inviting and welcoming Parent Resource Center for visiting families.

Communicates with faculty, staff, and administrators to determine school needs in the area of parent engagement and shares updates on best practices.

Participates in professional development at the local, regional, and/or state level and shares ideas and experiences with school staff.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal or Director of Federal.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

Associate’s degree or two years of education preferred; experience working jointly with families and schools and/or experience working in a Title I school.

Certificate or License Required:

None.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend job‑specific technical information, simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and position‑specific manuals. Ability to write correspondence and reports. Ability to effectively articulate and present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to conduct position‑related data analysis, compute rates, ratios, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to facilitate problem‑solving processes. Ability to synthesize workable options from given facts and assist in the development of workable solutions.

Technical Ability:

Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office and other specified technologies.

Customer Service Skills:

Ability to interact effectively with colleagues, administrators, teachers, staff members, and students using tactful, yet effective skills. Ability to collaborate well, display a cooperative attitude, be service‑oriented and actively seek ways to assist others.

Professional Requirements:

Must serve as a role model to students. Appropriate dress and grooming consistent with established standards required.

Physical Demands:

Ability to walk, stand, lift up to 25 pounds. Occasionally crouch or kneel. Frequent travel and exposure to traffic and outdoor elements.

Work Environment:

Frequent travel to home sites, school sites, and other locations. Outdoor work conditions. Moderate noise level.

Confidential Data Exposure:

Must maintain confidentiality regarding financial and personal information.

Additional Requirements:

Must be on time, meet attendance standards, conduct activities safely, be reliable, responsible, and dependable.
