Job Description
Ownership of payroll delivery:
You take full responsibility for the timely and accurate execution of payroll activities, ensuring consistency, data integrity, and alignment with local regulations across the assigned scope.
External stakeholder coordination:
You drive the relationship with payroll providers and external partners, ensuring clear communication, anticipation of issues, and continuous service quality improvement.
Data, controls & compliance:
You monitor payroll data flows, validate outputs, and implement appropriate controls to mitigate risks. You ensure adherence to applicable legal, fiscal, and social frameworks.
Workforce data & financial alignment:
You contribute to workforce planning and cost monitoring by providing reliable payroll data, supporting budgeting cycles, and ensuring alignment with financial assumptions.
Process optimisation & structuring:
You identify inefficiencies, streamline workflows, and introduce more robust and scalable processes, with a focus on standardisation and automation where relevant.
Employee lifecycle administration:
You ensure that all administrative processes linked to employee events (entry, changes, exit) are handled accurately and in a timely manner, with proper documentation and compliance.
Advisory & expertise:
You act as a reference point for payroll-related topics, providing pragmatic guidance to HR and management on regulatory and operational matters.
The Successful Applicant
Background & experience
Degree in HR or equivalent practical experience
More than 7 years of experience in payroll, ideally within complex or international organisations
Solid knowledge of Belgian payroll regulations; exposure to multi-country payroll is an advantage
Skills & approach
Fluent in French with a strong command of English
Analytical, structured, and detail-oriented
Autonomous, reliable, and accountable
Pragmatic mindset with a focus on solutions and continuous improvement
Comfortable working in evolving and fast-paced environments
Proactive learner with a strong interest in process optimisation
