Job Responsibilities

The Wegmans School of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, on-campus appointment as an assistant professor or visiting assistant professor to begin teaching January 2026. This position can be tenure-track or non-tenure-track.
Teach undergraduate and graduate nursing students in the classroom, simulation learning center, online, and clinical settings
Engage in an active program of research/scholarship
Engage in service activities within the school, college, the profession of nursing, and the community
Maintain clinical and academic expertise
Plan student learning experiences to achieve desired learning outcomes
Plan, develop, and implement evaluation tools to assess student progress
Participate in curriculum development
Participate in meetings and other activities that advance the mission and goals of the school and college
Other duties as determined by the Associate Dean
All nursing programs in the Wegmans School of Nursing at St. John Fisher University are fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education CCNE
The teaching load is 33 contact hours per year (12 credits Fall and Spring and 9 credits in the Summer).
Education / Experience

Minimum Requirements:

Doctoral degree in Nursing (PhD or DNP) conferred by the time of hire preferred. One graduate degree must be in nursing (MS or doctorate) from an accredited institution. Hold state and national certification as an advanced practice nurse. Active unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse and APRN certification in New York State, or ability to obtain by date of hire. Minimum of two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent, current professional RN and APRN clinical experience.

Preferred Requirements:

Two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent, academic experience in undergraduate and/or graduate nursing education; previous experience with curriculum development and evaluation; online teaching experience; established record of scholarship/research publications; established record of service.

Salary Range Non-Tenure: 80,000.00 - 94,000.00 annually; Tenure Track: 85,000.00 - 100,000.00 annually
