Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Per Diem Registered Nurse – Ambulatory Surgery Unit (PreOp/PACU). The successful candidate will practice in accordance with the American Nurses Association’s scope and standards of nursing practice, using clinical expertise to plan, deliver, and evaluate safe, therapeutic, population‑specific patient care. The role centers on the patient and family, incorporates their unique characteristics, and works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes. Leadership responsibilities include orienting, mentoring, and managing team members to ensure quality care is delivered with compassion, dignity, respect, and efficiency. Participation in unit, departmental, or institutional performance improvement initiatives is also required.

Job Responsibilities
• Practice in accordance with the American Nurses Association’s scope and standards of nursing practice.
• Use clinical expertise to plan, implement, and evaluate safe and therapeutic patient care.
• Incorporate the unique characteristics and needs of each patient and family member.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide leadership by orienting, mentoring, and managing team members.
• Participate in performance‑improvement initiatives that impact patient, family, and service outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Current and valid New York State Registered Professional Nurse license.
• Valid BLS certification.
• 2–3 years of Pre‑op/PACU and pediatric experience.
• Knowledge of standards of practice for all areas of patient care.
• Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• 1–2 years of nursing experience.

Salary
Hourly salary range: $70.00 – $70.00. Actual salaries depend on experience, education, specialty, and hospital need.
