The Registered MRI Technologist is a professional who works under the supervision of the Imaging Services Director to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. This role is focused on the comfort, safety, and overall well‑well-being of patients while delivering a safe and positive MRI experience.
This position requires a customer service‑oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills to provide care to patients from diverse backgrounds. Independent decision‑making is expected, as the technologist may be responsible for managing a modality and delegating patient‑care assignments and duties based on workload. The technologist must maintain professional standards of Radiologic Technology and MRI Safety while utilizing clinical skills and critical thinking to assess, plan, provide, delegate, supervise, manage, and evaluate patient care.
This position reports to the Imaging Services Director and is hourly (non‑exempt).
Schedule
Hours: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM tentative (open for discussion and availability of candidate)
Key Responsibilities
Perform MRI procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
Ensure patient safety and compliance with MRI safety standards.
Provide excellent patient care focused on comfort and education.
Explain MRI safety practices to patients, coworkers, and non‑imaging staff.
Maintain accurate documentation and adherence to regulatory standards.
Collaborate with imaging and healthcare team members to support patient care.
Qualifications (as required for success in the role)
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
Experience
Minimum of one (1) year experience as a registered MRI Technologist preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
Registered by ARRT in Radiologic Technology.
Registered by ARRT in Magnetic Resonance.
Strong knowledge of MRI safety standards and best practices.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and clinical decision‑making.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Licensure, Registration, or Certification
Current ARRT Registered Radiography and Magnetic Resonance.
Current Radiologic Technologist license through the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.
Current CPR / Basic Life Support certification.
