Manufacturing, Operations and Production

Summary
The Construction Worker I performs all aspects of work required in the maintenance and construction of plant production facilities, office buildings, and equipment in various locations in Alaska. Reports to the Site Supervisor for the facilities construction group.

Key Responsibilities

Operates medium sized equipment, such as skid‑steers, forklifts, surfacing equipment, dock cranes, man lifts, telescoping lifts, etc.

Scaffolding staging, assembly, and safety.

Wood framing, window and door installation and roofing.

Interior carpentry finishing and sheetrock.

Installing ventilation ducting and plumbing fixtures.

Concrete forming, reinforcing, and placing.

Ensures strict adherence to all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe workplace.

Travels to AK plants as needed to assist and provide additional coverage.

Additional Responsibilities

Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.

Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in carpentry or construction.

HS Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Experience

Associate’s Degree, or skilled trades graduate.

Basic understanding of hand tools.

Minimal experience with power tools.

Experience with basic concrete and carpentry.

Training

OSHA 10 – required; company will provide.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. The employee moves objects.

Regularly up to 10 pounds.

Frequently up to 25 pounds.

Occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
