JOB SUMMARY
The Recovery Specialist will collaborate with Wellness Court clients to strengthen and integrate traditional cultural teachings into client and community education. Works closely with program staff to develop, implement, and promote culturally grounded activities, while actively encouraging client participation. Provides assertive linkages to recovery communities and treatment agencies by assisting with transportation, accessing public benefits, securing concrete resources, and accompanying clients to treatment intakes, sober support meetings, sober leisure activities, and cultural events. Delivers recovery-focused skill building and connections that support full community integration, including education, employment, housing stability, budgeting, leisure, spiritual or cultural practices, and the development of pro-recovery family and social relationships.
COMPENSATION
$23.25 hr.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
Three (3) years in recovery from substance use disorder and/or demonstrated history of service work within the recovery community.
One (1) year of experience working with confidential or sensitive information.
One (1) year of experience working in an office or administrative environment.
Experience interacting with and serving Native or Tribal communities in a respectful and culturally appropriate manner.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
WA State Driver License.
Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulation
(Abstract Required)
Must have Recovery or Advocate Support certificate. *Will allow six (6) months to obtain.
No alcohol and/or drug related criminal convictions within five (5) years.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a Contracted position.
