Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and student‑centered Special Education Teacher to join our Washington Elementary school team. The ideal candidate is dedicated to creating inclusive, engaging learning experiences that support the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of students. This educator will collaborate closely with general education teachers, specialists, and families to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that foster growth, independence, and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in alignment with state and federal requirements.

Deliver differentiated instruction and evidence‑based interventions tailored to students’ unique learning needs.

Create a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success.

Use data to track student progress, adjust instructional strategies, and communicate outcomes to families and the school team.

Serve as a collaborative partner in multidisciplinary meetings and problem‑solving teams.

Advocate for students and ensure equitable access to educational opportunities.

Qualifications

Valid Iowa Certification in Special Education and ID Endorsement

Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavior‑support frameworks.

Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Commitment to fostering an inclusive school culture where all students are valued and supported.
