
Civil Engineer - Designer - Engineer in Training - Water Wastewater

What you'll do
Prepare construction drawings for water and wastewater infrastructure projects including pipelines, treatment facilities, storage tanks, and pump stations
Assist with the design and analysis of municipal water and sewer systems
Perform hydraulic modeling and system evaluations using tools such as WaterCAD, Innovyze, or similar software
Support permitting efforts and coordinate with regulatory agencies
Participate in construction administration activities including site visits and coordination with contractors
Assist in preparing technical reports, specifications, and project documentation
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams
Participate in client meetings and presentations
Manage project tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality goals
What you bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Biosystems Engineering
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain (PE path strongly preferred)
2–5 years of experience working with municipal water and wastewater clients
Experience in planning, design, permitting, and construction administration of infrastructure projects
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience with hydraulic modeling software preferred
Strong understanding of hydraulic analysis and design principles
Knowledge of utility construction methods, materials, and water/wastewater treatment technologies
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to participate in client interactions
Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and appropriately prioritize workflow
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent time‑management skills and ability to meet deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with project financial tracking tools preferred
Client service‑oriented mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
