Berkshire County Arc is a non-profit human service agency that has been providing community-based services to adults with developmental disabilities and/or brain injuries for over 50 years. Berkshire County Arc’s mission is to assist and support individuals in their quest to identify and realize their chosen lifestyles. This is accomplished through various programs offered: residential homes including independent apartments, employment services, day programs, adult family care, transitions, advocacy & family support, special needs pooled trusts, and a mailhouse staffed by people with disabilities that serves dozens of businesses across Western Massachusetts.
Berkshire County Arc’s programs are offered in Berkshire County and Pioneer Valley. We serve nearly 1,000 individuals per year and have over 700 dedicated staff.
In this position, your primary focus will be to work with the Chief Human Resources Officer to ensure that all HR processes run smoothly and are in full compliance. The HR department has a terrific team of dedicated professionals that support each other, the Agency, and the people we serve.
Use your excellent HR, people, organizational, management, and communication skills to hit the ground running for this fast-paced busy position.
As a back-up to the CHRO the Assistant Director of Human Resources assists in the development and implementation of policies and programs relating to all phases of human resources activity. You will touch every aspect of HR regularly using your experience in all areas of HR including compliance, workers comp, PFML, recruiting, benefits admin., employee relations, and more to help this amazing department.
Salary is $80,000-$85,000/year.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred with three or more years of HR experience managing people and programs.
SHRM/HRCI certification is a plus. Excellent communication, people, and leadership skills needed.
Strong computer skills a must. HRIS experience a plus.
Any nonprofit or human service experience is a plus.
