Responsibilities
Machine Operation:
Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders.
Tool Fabrication:
Construct and repair specialized tools, gauges, and fixtures to high precision and tight tolerances.
Technical Interpretation:
Read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and sketches.
Quality Control:
Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, comparators) to ensure work meets specs.
Troubleshooting:
Visit the shop floor to diagnose and solve tooling or production issues.
Machine Maintenance:
Conduct routine maintenance on tool room equipment.
