Job Description
Qualifications:
Appropriate Certification by the Missouri State Department of Education.
Reports to:
Building Principal
Goal:
To help students learn subject matter and skills that contribute to their development as able, responsible citizens.
Responsibilities:
Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
Align and implement District approved curriculum.
Assess accomplishment of students on a regular basis.
Develop lesson plans and instructional materials to provide individual and group instruction.
Create a positive learning environment through displays, bulletin boards and interest centers.
Keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports.
Communicate with parents through a variety of means including conferences.
Participate in professional development activities.
Attend required meetings.
Select, requisition and inventory appropriate books and instructional aids.
Supervise students during work day.
Work cooperatively with other staff.
Supervise paraprofessional if appropriate.
Prepare for class and provide written evidence as requested.
Make referrals of students when necessary as determined by need.
Manage classroom behaviors appropriately.
Maintain and improve professional competence.
Keep confidentiality and respect student privacy.
Keep building principal informed of appropriate issues.
Keep the Principal informed of appropriate issues.
Make decisions for the best interests of the District and within Board policies and CSIP objectives.
Promote positive relations between the building, District, Board and community.
Work to achieve district goals adopted by the Board.
Execute all policies, rules and regulations adopted by the Board.
Performs duties as assigned to maintain order and safety.
Terms of Employment:
Contract to be established by the Board – Generally 182 days.
Evaluation:
Annually by the Building Principal in accordance with policy.
A criminal fingerprint/background clearance is required.

Bachelor degree preferred.
