Job Description
The Mechanic shall possess a complete understanding of the operation and methods of troubleshooting/overhauling various systems on heavy machinery to include Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
Job Requirements / Skill Sets
Performing troubleshooting and overhaul on all types of MHE.
2 years’ experience in heavy equipment overhaul and repair.
Possess strong analytical and problem‑solving skills as well as proficiency in using diagnostic equipment working independently.
Ability to make sound judgments on the repair and overhaul of MHE/SMSE to reduce equipment down time.
Must understand the principles and methods of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical troubleshooting and overhaul repair of diesel and electrical equipment with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Must have the ability to repair or overhaul major assemblies and systems, e.g. power train differentials, transaxles, electronic fuel injection systems, emission control systems, and related electrical, electronic, hydraulic, fuel, and other sub‑assemblies following instructions contained in applicable technical manuals.
Assist the Warehouseman, as required by the General Foreman.
Possess their own tools, see the MHE Basic Tool List.

Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Security Clearance / Naval Facility Access
U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to meet and maintain eligibility for a Secret Clearance and/or be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
