Field Service Technician I – Mays Landing and South Shore
What You’ll Be Doing
The Field Service Technician is responsible for servicing, fixing, upgrading, and performing preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment such as coin & currency equipment, ATMs, software, and specialized office products located at client sites in the South Shore and surrounding area. Success requires coordination with branch sales and other service team members.
Responsibilities and Duties
Service, upgrade and perform preventive maintenance on company electromechanical equipment.
Travel by vehicle daily to client sites (90%) with overnight travel as needed (10%).
Work with branch employees to satisfy client needs.
Address customer service requests within the specified contract response time.
Provide extended hours coverage periods and on‑call duty where applicable.
Safeguard and maintain a balanced vehicle stock parts inventory.
Keep company‑issued vehicle clean and perform scheduled maintenance.
Safeguard all company‑issued assets, including tablet computer and mobile phone.
Perform all other duties as required.
Qualifications
Impeccable integrity.
1+ year of experience as a technician/field service/mechanical role or similar profession.
Ability to gain access to highly secured environments; occupational licenses may be required depending on territory/accounts.
Strong electromechanical aptitude (plus not a must).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a positive, customer‑first attitude.
Personable, approachable, and able to work easily with others at all levels.
Strong attention to detail – able to proof and prioritize own work.
Proficiency in iOS, MS Office applications, and Windows OS.
Ability to set and track goals independently and work proactively as a team player.
Commitment to meeting project deadlines.
Physical Requirements
Available for periodic travel to corporate office in Mt. Prospect, IL for training classes.
Able to lift, push, or carry a minimum of 50 pounds such as large money‑counting machines and parts.
Journal involves kneeling, bending, twisting, lifting, and squatting to service equipment on the ground up to 60% of the time.
Requires hand and wrist dexterity for turning screwdrivers and placing parts.
Phone or desk work about 10% of the time, including computer work, bench repair, parts stocking, tracking service calls, and scheduling appointments.
Ability to stand for long periods, up to 75% of the time while servicing equipment.
