The Mental Health Program Manager oversees a team working to provide older adults with mental health screenings and assessments, short-term counseling, mental health referrals, support groups, peer counseling, intensive case management, phone reassurance, and medication education. This position will be responsible for maintaining positive relationships in the organization and community, actively collaborating with funders and stakeholders, and ensuring that all program requirements are met.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities****:*** Supervise and support 7-10 mental health program staff working in Older Adult Mental Health Access, Senior Peer Counseling, Geriatric Depression Screening, Intensive Case Management, and Medication Education Programs* Facilitate Mental Health Programs team meetings to support collaboration, communication, and consultation between colleagues* Assist staff members dealing with complex and/or volatile situations by accompanying them on home visits as needed* Regular presentations and speaking engagements to promote mental health programs and provide education on topics related to elder mental health* Provide one-on-one counseling to clients via phone or in the community* Maintain accurate, up-to-date client records and prepare quarterly reports to submit to the granting agency for verification of grant compliance.* Support the Program Director in developing and managing program budgets.* Attend training seminars and conferences to stay current on issues of depression and other mental health concerns in older adults.* Maintain working knowledge of community resources available to address the problem situations that may contribute to depression in the older adult population.*Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.*## Qualifications**Minimum Qualifications****:*** Masters degree in Social Work, Mental Health, or related field* 3+ years’ experience in aging social services and/or mental health* 1+ years’ supervisory experience* Valid WA Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation* Effective written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking* Excellent customer service skills and ability to relate well with a diverse population* Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills* Ability to follow established processes and policies* Ability to handle daily job responsibilities in an environment with frequent interruptions* Ability to work independently and maintain professional demeanor while problem-solving during stressful situations* Ability to work in client homes with may have pets and strong odors including cigarette smoke* Experience with database management effective working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint); comfortable navigating in Microsoft Windows environment and using internet browsers.* Must be fully vaccinated per program or agency requirements.*Absent any regulatory or contractual requirement for specific education/certification, other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.***Preferred Qualifications****:*** LMHC or LICSW licensure* Washington State Approved Clinical Supervisor* 5+ years’ experience in aging social services and/or mental health* Experience with diverse communities* Fluency in languages other than English**Work environment and physical demands:*** This work is typically performed either in an office setting or in clients’ homes; functions are usually performed sitting but may spend some amount of time standing.* Some amount of bending, lifting, walking, carrying and other movements may be required.* Must be able to interact with people, computers, and office equipment to perform the Essential Duties and Responsibilities, with or without accommodations.* Work may include local travel during normal business hours, and occasional travel for training/conference attendance.* Occasional after hours or weekend events may be required.* This position is eligible for hybrid work with some onsite time required.*Please note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
