Sr. Project Engineer – Fully Cooked/Prepared Foods

The Senior Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving innovation and operational excellence across multiple processing plant projects. This position is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering initiatives that enhance plant performance, efficiency, and safety. Working in close collaboration with cross‑functional teams—including Engineering, Plant Operations, Maintenance, and external contractors—the Sr. Project Engineer ensures projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. This role involves managing all phases of the project lifecycle, from initial concept and design through installation, commissioning, and final handoff.
Responsibilities
Creation of capital budgeted projects and expenditures for the poultry processing plants
Serve as Project Lead on projects, developing timelines, coordinating support, and tracking progress
Primary liaison between contractors and plant personnel, assisting with layouts, verification of existing and future utilities, and weekend supervision of contractors
Plan and attend safety meetings surrounding projects including acting in an enforcement role as needed
Coordinate appropriate utilities for work, involving relocation of existing utilities and installation of new utilities as needed
Maintain and improve as‑built drawings, drawing retention, and version control for facilities, equipment, utilities, and property
Perform other projects/assignments as needed
Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required
Experience: Three to five years of previous experience required
Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office; above average AutoCAD skills. Strong communication, project management, analytical, and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively work with others to identify and capitalize on opportunities that result in successful implementation of changes for the benefit of the business
