Industrial Engineer (SOP & Process Improvement Exp. Req.) Description
Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for an Industrial Engineer to add to their team near Fayetteville, NC. In this role, you will support both an existing production facility and the setup of a new secondary facility, with a focus on documentation, process improvement, and equipment installation. The ideal candidate will have experience with process improvement, developing SOPs and work instructions, and analyzing manufacturing processes. To be successful, you must be
analytical, detail-oriented, and a strong problem solver
with the ability to work both on the production floor and in an office environment. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in expanding operations while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Industrial Engineer (SOP & Process Improvement Exp. Req.) Responsibilities
Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation
Design and implement process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma or similar methods
Manage the documentation of new equipment across multiple facilities
Conduct time studies to analyze production processes and identify improvement opportunities
Perform process mapping and VSM to optimize workflows
Analyze and optimize facility layouts and space utilization
Collaborate with the quality team to ensure processes meet quality standards
Monitor and report on KPIs to track production performance and improvements
Train operators on new processes, equipment, and standardized work instructions
Support set up of a new manufacturing facility including equipment installation oversight
Review production data, process flows, and specifications to support process optimization
Spend ~50% of time on the production floor and ~50% on office-based engineering work
Industrial Engineer (SOP & Process Improvement Exp. Req.) Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required
2+ years of engineering experience within manufacturing is required
Strong experience in document writing (SOPs and work instructions) is required
Experience with design and implementation of process improvements is required
Ability to read and interpret precision technical plans, blueprints, and drawings is required
Ability to work 100% on-site is required
