
Panel Wireman

Responsibilities
Panel Assembly: Drill, tap, and cut holes in metal enclosures to fit electrical components.
Wiring: Layout, mount, and wire components such as circuit breakers, transformers, relays, terminals, and industrial control devices based on wiring diagrams.
Equipment Operation: Operate shop equipment and hand tools, including power drills, wire marker machines, and labeling machines, to assist in panel assembly and wiring tasks.
Labeling: Install labels and overlays for panel identification.
Quality Control: Perform final detailing and testing of panels, ensuring they meet company quality standards. Clean and take pictures of panels prior to shipment.
BOM Maintenance: Assist with maintaining and updating the Bill of Materials (BOM) for panels.
Shipping Support: Prepare and package panels for shipment as needed.
Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area to improve efficiency and safety.
Collaboration: Work closely with team members, following instructions and staying on task to meet production deadlines.
Metrics / KPIs
Assembly Accuracy: KPI – Percentage of panels assembled without errors, Target – 98% accuracy.
Assembly Errors: KPI – Number of wiring defects found during final testing or after shipment, Target – Less than 2 defects per month.
Production Timeliness: KPI – Percentage of panels completed by the deadline, Target – 95% or higher.
Panel Testing Success Rate: KPI – Percentage of panels that pass initial quality control and testing.
Rework Time: KPI – Average time spent on rework or repairs due to wiring or assembly errors, Target – Less than 2 hours per panel.
BOM Accuracy: KPI – Percentage of BOMs maintained accurately for each panel project, Target – 100%.
Housekeeping & Safety: KPI – Number of safety incidents or cleanliness issues reported, Target – Zero.
Production Volume: KPI – Number of panels assembled and wired per week or month, Target – 10–15 per week (typical).
Customer Satisfaction: KPI – Customer feedback on the quality of shipped panels, Target – Maintain a rating of 4.5/5 or higher.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Attention to detail: Ensure accuracy in panel layout, wiring, and final detailing.
Time management: Manage multiple tasks and meet production goals in a fast‑paced environment.
Work under pressure: Perform under tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
Multi‑tasking: Handle several tasks at once, ensuring timely completion.
Team player: Work effectively with teammates and contribute to a positive work environment.
Experience: Prior experience as a technician or similar technical role is preferred.
Physical requirements: Stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, lift objects up to 75 lbs.
