Position Overview
This position supports
Department of Defense financial reporting and audit readiness
through
Journal Voucher (JV) analytics, reconciliation, and control execution . The role focuses on analyzing JV activity across multiple DoD financial systems, resolving unsupported entries, and ensuring compliance with
federal accounting, Treasury, and DoD financial regulations .
Critical Skills & Experience
Journal Voucher (JV) analysis, validation, and audit support
DoD financial systems: DEAMS, DDRS‑B, DDRS‑AFS, GAFS‑R
Treasury Guidelines, OMB Circulars, and DoD financial regulations
Financial statement mapping and trial balance reconciliation
Audit readiness, sampling, and DFAS JV testing
Internal controls, approvals, and oversight for JVs
Key Responsibilities
Produce and analyze
Journal Voucher analytics
across DEAMS, DDRS‑B, DDRS‑AFS, and GAFS‑R
Perform
financial statement mapping
and ensure alignment with reporting requirements
Ensure
review and oversight controls
are properly designed and executed for JVs requiring DAF approval
Research and resolve
unsupported Journal Vouchers , including root cause analysis and corrective actions
Conduct
substantive sampling and testing
over DFAS JV postings to support audit readiness
Support
trial balance reconciliations
and cross‑system data validation
Coordinate with audit, finance, and functional stakeholders to resolve discrepancies
Translate technical accounting issues into
clear briefings, status reports, and responses to RFIs
Manage and maintain
audit evidence repositories
(e.g., SharePoint)
Support
system modernization, migration, consolidation, and IT audit remediation
related to FISCAM, FFMIA, and FMFIA
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting or Business Management , or four (4) additional years of relevant experience
2+ years
of experience in business management or financial management
Hands‑on experience with
DoD financial systems
(DEAMS, DDRS‑B, DDRS‑AFS, GAFS‑R)
Knowledge of
Treasury reporting, OMB Circulars, and DoD financial guidance
Experience with
GTAS validations, edits, and federal financial reporting
Understanding of
USSGL, Chart of Accounts, system crosswalks, and trial balance reconciliations
Demonstrated experience performing
JV analysis, validation, or audit support
Preferred Qualifications
Intermediate proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
(pivot tables, data analysis)
Experience supporting
financial statement audits or audit remediation
Familiarity with
internal control documentation and testing
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail skills
Ability to coordinate across
distributed, cross‑functional stakeholders
Clear written and verbal communication skills
