Job Description
Do you bring out the star in your students? Our motto here at Taylor Robinson Music is "Learn to Play From the Heart", and we are looking for private music instructors who share the same philosophy. We strive to make music lessons as accessible and affordable to as many people as possible because we believe the importance of music education is essential to making the world a better, happier place.
Taylor Robinson Music is hiring private music instructors, especially for Piano. We do not have a brick‑and‑mortar studio location in the Richmond, VA area, but we have students needing teachers ASAP. Lessons can occur in the students' homes; in your own home or your own studio/rehearsal space; or via webcam. While we do get requests for webcam, they make up only a small percentage of our student base. Most of our students still prefer in‑person lessons, so we need local instructors who can host students and/or are willing to travel to students in the Richmond, VA area.
Responsibilities
Teach private piano lessons to students in the Richmond, VA area via in‑person, home, studio, or webcam sessions.
Plan and deliver lesson content tailored to each student's needs and progress.
Maintain a flexible schedule and manage lesson logistics independently.
Ensure student safety by wearing a mask, sanitizing hands, and practicing social distancing when applicable.
Qualifications
EITHER a degree in music, enrollment in a music program, professional performing experience, or previous teaching experience.
Experience teaching or working with children is preferred.
Strong communication skills and reliability with punctuality.
Benefits
Independent contractor basis with pay ranging from $20‑$30 per hour, commensurate with travel time, experience, education, and student retention.
Freedom to set your own schedule and curriculum/lesson plans.
Advertising, marketing, SEO, and billing handled by Taylor Robinson Music to lighten administrative load.
Additional Information
