Mechanical Design Drafter
Job Summary: This position works with maintenance, manufacturing and engineers to manage capital projects no greater than $100,000 and is primarily responsible for reading, creating and modeling detailed structural and mechanical blueprints, fabricating, implementing and evaluating devices, assemblies and parts to achieve the most cost-effective way to maintain and improve infrastructure and equipment.

Monday - Thursday: 6 - 3 or 7-4 & Friday: 6 - 12

What you’ll be doing
Identify and eliminate potential safety hazards in area.
Communication and coordination with support staff, project managers, engineers, and production as required.
Monitor and log allocated time/hours into JDE "production/CAM WO time Maintenance".
Create, read, modify and interpret both mechanical and architectural drawings.
Planning, execution and support of equipment design modifications, installations and removals.
Do comprehensive planning of assigned projects to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Ability to complete and explain AFE (approved financial expenditure) form AC-009.
Strong organizational and document management skills.
Provide technical advice regarding drawing design.
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
Assist in estimating quantities and cost of materials, equipment and labor to determine project feasibility.
Evaluate, develop, coordinate and project manage resolutions as assigned for manufacturing, maintenance, quality, safety, environmental and administration projects by supervisor.
Ability and willingness to train, learn new skills and adapt to changes.
Desire to excel in the mechanical drafting field.
Flexibility in work location, ability to travel (may include overnights).
Qualifications
Applicants must have a minimum of a Post‑Secondary 2‑year diploma in mechanical drafting, preferred Post‑Secondary 2‑year AAS degree in mechanical drafting.
1‑2 years mechanical drafting preferred.
1‑2 years in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Position requires passing a written exam related to essential functions and responsibilities.
Strong computer skills (Auto‑Cad mechanical and/or Inventor, MS Office, Excel).
Ability to be flexible and adapt to a dynamic working environment and diverse team.
Individual must be able to work with and lead as assigned project teams.
