Designer
Los Angeles based artist’s studio seeks a full-time Designer to support all phases (design through construction administration and project closeout) of a complex multi-building project for artist’s residence, studio and exhibition space in Colorado. The ideal candidate is a creative, self-motivated and organized individual with a collaborative approach and strong design skills.
Duties
Collaborate with the designers, architects, contractors, fabricators, artisans, and developers
Assist Project Manager/Architect with construction administration including RFIs, submittals, shop drawing review, field coordination, and tracking open items through resolution
Assist with interiors coordination including FF&E, furniture layouts, and specification tracking
Coordinate with vendors and assist with procurement tracking (furniture, fixtures, and specialty items)
Assist Project Manager/Architect with coordination and communication with consultants, contractors, design architect, and architect of record
Assist Project Manager/Architect with organization of current and historic project files
Draft millwork packages and details for construction
Research materials and order samples
Create in-house renderings and presentations for review
Requirements
3-5 years of experience post-graduate and a professional degree in Architecture
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Detail oriented and an eye for design
Excellent 2D drawing and 3D modeling capabilities
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Rhino, and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication skills and willing to work in a fast-paced creative work environment
Ability to travel periodically to the project site in Colorado
Experience with construction administration and familiarity with submittals, RFIs, and shop drawing review preferred
Experience with interiors/FF&E coordination preferred
Pay
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
Benefits
Benefits include health insurance, 401k, paid vacation, paid holidays and sick leave. Work is supervised by a licensed Architect and hours can be reviewed to meet Internship requirements.
