Overview
The Hotel Engineering Supervisor oversees the maintenance, repair, and safety of a hotel’s structural, mechanical, and electrical systems, ensuring compliance with brand standards and guest satisfaction. Key responsibilities include leading technicians, managing preventative maintenance, fixing HVAC/plumbing, and controlling costs. They frequently inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house areas, maintaining high safety standards.
Responsibilities
Maintenance Leadership:
Supervise, train, and schedule engineering staff for daily repairs and maintenance tasks.
Preventative Maintenance (PM):
Develop, execute, and track PM programs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life‑safety systems.
Guest Room & Facility Care:
Conduct inspections of guest rooms and public areas, ensuring all equipment, furniture, and systems function properly.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with OSHA, local, state, and federal codes, including emergency systems and fire safety.
Repair Execution:
Perform and supervise repairs in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting.
Operations Support:
Manage inventory, track utility usage, and control departmental expenses.
Response Time:
Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests, minimizing operational disruptions.
Qualifications
Experience:
Generally 3–6 years of related work experience in hotel maintenance or a related field.
Technical Knowledge:
Proficiency in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Supervisory Skills:
Previous leadership experience leading a maintenance team is usually required.
Compensation: $23–$24 hourly
