The
HR Generalist (Talent Acquisition Focus)
is responsible for leading full‑cycle recruitment efforts to attract and hire high‑quality talent, while also supporting key Human Resources initiatives related to employee experience, compliance, reporting, and engagement. This role plays a critical part in shaping QVI’s workforce by building strong talent pipelines, supporting onboarding and retention efforts, and contributing to HR programs that enhance employee engagement and organizational effectiveness. The position reports to the VP of Human Resources and works in close collaboration with the Sr. HR Generalist for day‑to‑day partnership across HR operations, employee relations, and HR programs.
Role and Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment (Primary Focus)
Partners with the VP of HR and hiring managers to identify staffing needs and workforce priorities
Collaborates with hiring managers to define role requirements and selection criteria
SOURCES AND ATTRACTS candidates through online channels, social media, professional networks, and community partnerships
Reviews resumes and candidate information using the Applicant Tracking System (Paylocity)
Conducts screening calls and coordinates interviews with hiring teams
Creates compelling job postings aligned with QVI’s employer brand
Leads and supports employer‑branding initiatives across platforms such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and Glassdoor
Develops content and campaigns that highlight QVI as an employer of choice
Organizes and participates in job fairs, recruiting events, and campus outreach
Builds and maintains relationships with local colleges, workforce programs, and talent pipelines
Completes pre‑employment processes (background checks, drug screens, etc.) and manages vendor relationships
Executes hiring transactions in Paylocity and ensures accurate and timely onboarding documentation
Onboarding, Engagement & Employee Experience
Leads or co‑leads HR orientation sessions and supports onboarding experience improvements
Administers new hire surveys and shares insights with HR leadership
Conducts stay interviews, surveys, or focus groups to support retention initiatives
Leads or co‑leads Engagement Committee activities and initiatives
Supports programs that enhance employee engagement, culture, and retention
HR Compliance & Reporting
Supports EEO/AAP administration, compliance reporting, and related training initiatives
Assists with preparation of monthly HR metrics, including headcount and turnover reporting
Maintains accurate HR data and ensures compliance with internal policies and external requirements
Benefits & HR Programs Support
Provides employee education on company benefits and HR programs (non‑administrative)
Supports HR orientation and ongoing communication of HR programs and resources
Training & Continuous Improvement
Assists in training managers on recruitment best practices and interviewing techniques
Monitors recruiting metrics and job posting performance; provides recommendations for improvement
Collaborates with vendors (Indeed, LinkedIn, etc.) to optimize recruitment strategies
Works with the VP of HR and Sr. HR Generalist to continuously improve HR processes and programs
Other Duties
Supports the VP of HR with research projects and strategic HR initiatives
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Recruiting, or a related field
Experience with applicant tracking systems (Paylocity preferred) and/or HRIS systems is a plus
Strong interest in developing a career in Human Resources, with exposure to multiple HR disciplines
Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong follow‑through
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to build relationships and work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Customer‑service mindset with a focus on employee experience
Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and support reporting needs
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems and tools
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Ability to sit for extended periods of time (8‑hour shift) in an office setting, utilizing standard office equipment (computer, keyboard, computer mouse, phone, etc.)
Ability to travel as needed, via car and air travel, for recruitment events
Ability to move about and navigate through the workplace; manufacturing environment which may include stairs, uneven surfaces and narrow walkways
Ability to lift and carry objects of up to 40 pounds (for job fairs, recruitment events, etc.)
