
QC Inventory Technician - Site Services

Opportunity
In this role, you will report to the Site Services Supervisor and will work closely with Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on‑and off‑site expert personnel – and our customers – to perform customized, mission‑based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
Location:
Rensselaer, NY
Schedule:
Mon – Fri, 7 am – 3 pm

What We’re Looking For
Education:
A high school diploma or GED is required
Experience:
2+ years of customer service, inventory replenishment, or material handling experience is required
Collaboration Tool:
Microsoft Office suite
Qualifications
Basic digital literacy, including Microsoft Office, is required
Conform to all company and customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, and security clearances
Strong communication skills required
Excellent customer service skills: display a professional can‑do demeanor required
Perform duties with the highest regard for safety and quality required
Must be flexible, forward‑thinking, motivated, and able to act independently required
Problem‑solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks are required
Spill containment training, IATA, DOT, IMDG, and OSHA Right to Know experience is desired
Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is strongly desired
In This Role You Will
Facilitate orders for consumable lab inventory replenishment
Manage customers’ point‑of‑use or stockroom inventory
Coordinate shipping and receiving of materials with 3rd party couriers
Handle and manage chemicals, including hazardous materials
Perform basic order entry and follow‑up on existing back‑orders
Maintain and check safety stations
Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures
Manage cleanroom garment inventory
Perform other duties as assigned
