The Opportunity:
In this role, you will report to the Onsite Supervisor and will work closely with Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Cambridge, MA 02142
Shift:
Monday - Friday 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Hourly Pay Range:
$28/hr – $30/hr

What we’re looking for:
Education:
A high school diploma or GED is required
Experience:
2+ years of experience in material handling and/or inventory management, and 2+ years of customer service experience required
Collaboration Tool:
Microsoft Suite (Word and Excel) proficiency required; SAP, Citrix, ChemSW, and Avantor’s inventory systems experience desirable
Qualifications:
Proven understanding of shipping and purchasing required
Excellent customer service skills with a professional can‑do demeanor required
High regard for safety, quality, and adherence to protocols, procedures, and policies required
Able to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with customer contacts and internal contacts required
Proactive and forward‑thinking with the ability to prioritize tasks and self‑motivate to meet goals required
Able to lift 50 lbs. required
Knowledge of scientific products and services is strongly desired but not required
Responsibilities:
Process tasks in inventory management (consumables, chemicals, samples, etc.) and maintain accurate inventory control, processing requests that lead to inventory movement on and off site, and fulfilling customer metric reporting
Monitor slow‑moving and dead inventory, conduct cycle counting, yearly physical inventories, and reporting
Provide daily customer service functions and communicate with the customer relative to inventory management
Monitor back‑order reporting and expediting, direct factory shipments, handle quotes, document control, records maintenance, and resolve open invoices or pricing issues
Run monthly and weekly reports, maintain metrics, and track cost savings
Perform shipping coordination activities such as shipping customer material, handling routine issues, entering shipping information into the customer computer system, and equipment inspections
Handle hazardous material, including preparing shipping documentation and packaging requirements
Interface directly with customer point of contact, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers
Run consigned, non‑consigned, customer‑owned, and/or third‑party inventory
Use Avantor and customer computer systems (SAP, Citrix, Intranet, Avantor Inventory Management Systems, ChemSW, and customer‑specific systems) in fulfillment of job duties
Meet goals and objectives: safety, performance, and quality
Create programs for enhanced service efficiencies
Work with Avantor Sales Force and manufacturing representatives
Document organizational change
Responsible for the desktop delivery of inbound packages to customer contacts
Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures
Other duties as assigned
