Litigation Attorney Opportunity – Stable Defense-Focused Firm with Strong Trial Practice
Job Description: This role focuses on insurance defense and complex civil litigation matters, representing individuals, corporations, and insurance carriers in a variety of disputes. The associate will handle cases from inception through resolution, with increasing autonomy based on experience level.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters from pleadings through trial
Draft motions, pleadings, discovery demands/responses, and legal memoranda
Conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
Attend court appearances, conferences, and oral arguments
Work closely with partners on litigation strategy and case evaluation
Engage in settlement negotiations and mediation
Communicate directly with clients, carriers, and opposing counsel
Practice Areas May Include
Insurance defense
General liability and premises liability
Motor vehicle and transportation litigation
Construction accident / Labor Law claims
Personal injury defense
Commercial and tort litigation

Job Requirements
J.D. from an accredited law school
Admitted to practice in New York (additional admissions a plus)
3–7 years of civil litigation experience, preferably defense‑side
Strong writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
Experience handling depositions and court appearances
Ability to manage multiple active matters independently
Insurance defense or high‑volume litigation experience strongly preferred
