Responsibilities
Peraton requires Database Administrators to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3 EOM.
This position is located at MacDill AFB in Florida.
The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM and its components with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement support USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.
This role requires a strong technical foundation and will be responsible for managing complex database environments, ensuring data integrity and availability, optimizing performance, and implementing robust security and compliance measures. This position requires knowledge and experience in major database management systems, such as MariaDB, Oracle, and PostgreSQL, and the ability to operate efficiently within RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) environments. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server is also preferred. The Database Administrator - Tier 3 role demonstrates the ability to pay keen attention to detail, possess a strong customer service orientation and work as part of a team.
Technical Knowledge
Design and Architecture:
Design, install, configure, and maintain secure and scalable database systems (MariaDB, Oracle, PostgreSQL) in on-premises and cloud environments.
Availability:
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot high availability/disaster recovery solutions such as clustering, replication, logical/physical standby configurations, and other platform-specific redundancy mechanisms.
Performance:
Experience in DBMS performance optimization and ability to identify and resolve performance issues.
Security:
Deep understanding of DBMS security with ability to implement and maintain administrative and technical controls.
Collaboration:
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other administrators, engineers, and stakeholders across multiple time zones.
Communication:
Strong communication skills to convey technical information to technical and non-technical audiences; effective oral and written communication.
Problem Solving:
Ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions for cloud and on-premises environments.
Continuous Learning:
Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and best practices in cloud and on-premise environments.
Preferred skills:
Experience with DBMS supporting technologies such as Red Hat Identity Management, Active Directory/EntraID, DNS, PKI, Kerberos, and automation.
Other:
Experience with IT service management practices and understanding of DBMS architecture and best practices; familiarity with government and industry security standards (e.g., STIGs) is desirable for a senior database administrator in the DoD.

DoD 8570 IAT II Certification

Target Salary Range
$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
