Job Description
Internship position within Regions Risk Management Department. Interns will gain hands‑on experience across multiple risk functions, participate in training, and support key initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

Exposure to all basic functions of assigned group

Research, administrative tasks, correspondence, and attendance at meetings

Assistance on projects and initiatives

Develop core skills needed to launch a career in risk management

Responsibilities may vary by internship focus

Internship Program Overview
The Regions Risk Management Summer Internship Program offers opportunities across Corporate Compliance, Operational Risk Management, Enterprise Credit Risk, Financial Risk Management, and Enterprise Risk Management.

Intern Placement Opportunities

Corporate Compliance

– Work with subject‑matter experts on risk assessment, control documentation, testing, and monitoring.

Operational Risk Management

– Support ORM groups, strengthen technical and communication skills, analyze risk data.

Enterprise Credit Risk – Credit Portfolio Management

– Analyze performance trends, engage with business leaders, support research initiatives.

Enterprise Credit Risk – Data Governance

– Perform data lineage/mapping, recommend control solutions, design data quality rules.

Financial Risk Management – Market, Liquidity & Capital (MLC) Risk

– Work on investment portfolio analysis, interest‑rate and liquidity stress testing.

Enterprise Risk Management – Governance Risk

– Support risk governance workstreams, data synthesis, process mapping, and documentation.

Additional Requirements

Current undergraduate or graduate student (expected graduation Fall 2026 or Spring 2027) majoring in technical (e.g., data science, technology) or business fields.

Registered to work in the U.S. on a full‑time basis. No work‑visa sponsorship.

Availability: 40 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks. Ability to track time; eligible for overtime over 40 hours under FLSA.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum 3.0 GPA.
