
Heavy Equipment Operator - Haul Truck

Saiia Construction Company LLC, a MasTec company, is currently hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators near Carrollton, KY. The role includes operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, graders, dump trucks, front‑end loaders, compactors, scrapers, and water trucks to move material to and from designated areas, participating in required training, and ensuring all safety rules, procedures, policies, OSHA and MSHA regulations are followed.
Responsibilities
Operate excavators to dig holes, trenches, remove and transport earth, gravel, and other materials; use hydraulic attachments and GPS grade technology as needed.
Operate bulldozers or graders to level and distribute soil, sand, ore, rock, or to clear trees and rocks; use attachments and GPS grade technology as required.
Operate trucks equipped with dump bodies to transport and dump loose materials; operate controls for forward, backward, and dump operations.
Operate tractor‑drawn or self‑propelled scrapers to move, haul, and grade earth; control loading gates, depth of cut, and attachment power.
Operate water trucks, including transport of potable water and use of sprinkling attachment to spray water on roadways for dust control.
Qualifications
Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, MSHA and related state and federal regulations.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Proficient in using email, smartphone, tablet, or computer to manage company information and documents.
Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
Maintain acceptable attendance standards as per the employee handbook.
Approach and complete work in a meticulous, thorough, and timely manner.
Physical Requirements
Lift/Carry 0–10 lbs.: Occasionally
Lift/Carry 10–50 lbs.: Occasionally
Reach Above: Occasionally
Bend/Stoop: Occasionally
Use Hands for Manipulations: Continuously
Vision Abilities: Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Hearing Abilities: Must hear equipment and facility signals, horns and alarms; radio and phone communications.
