
COMPUTER MAINT/REPAIR-CE/VOC: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (non-credit)

Computer Maintenance/Repair CE/VOC Adjunct / Substitute Instructor Pool (non-credit)
San Diego Community College District – District Wide.
Position Type: Adjunct. Open until filled.
Major Responsibilities
Primary duties of adjunct faculty members are related to curriculum and teaching; the assignment is divided between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Adjunct instructional faculty are required to be available to students outside of class.
Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
Teach all scheduled classes.
Maintain accurate records.
Provide quality instruction, create and maintain an environment which emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages free discussion of ideas, interests and issues.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree AND two (2) years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; OR,
An Associate degree AND six (6) years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; OR,
The equivalent.
Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of continuing education students and staff.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in computer build and repair.
Completed CompTIA A+ and Network+ certificates.
Past experience as an IT professional, at least 5 years in an IT related position.
Technically capable with the ability and interest to maintain current knowledge in the IT area.
Available to teach in the evening and possibly Saturday classes.
Ability to conduct fully online courses.
Intermediate written and verbal communication skills.
Conditions of Employment
Submit official college transcripts as stated on application (even if a degree is not a requirement for this position).
Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam for initial appointment (must be renewed every 4 years).
Have fingerprints taken by a Live Scan computer at the district's expense (clearance must be received prior to first day of employment).
Present original documents for proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
