Working Title Adjunct Faculty

Pay Information: Follow the official salary schedule.
NOTE : Salary placement depends on receipt of official transcripts. Initial placement is at the first class/step until official transcripts are submitted.
FLSA Status: Exempt (does not accrue overtime).
Position Type: Adjunct.
Bargaining Unit: AFT/College Faculty.
Department: District Wide.
Position Overview
Part‑time/temporary faculty offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students. Applications are accepted continuously for three campuses (City, Mesa, Miramar) and continuing education centers; hires are made when openings occur.
Major Responsibilities
Teach lecture and lab classes as assigned, ensuring availability for students outside class.
Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
Maintain professional conduct and ethics.
Stay current in the subject matter.
Complete all part‑time/temporary faculty duties.
Deliver all scheduled classes.
Maintain accurate records.
Create a learning environment that encourages discussion of ideas and interests.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree or Master of Fine Arts in Drama, Theater Arts, or Performance.
or Bachelor’s degree or Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama, Theater Arts, or Performance and a Master’s degree in Comparative Literature, English, Communication Studies, Speech, Literature, or Humanities.
or the equivalent of the above.
Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds.
Desired Qualifications
English-language proficiency for instruction.
Experience teaching in community college environment.
Valid California Community College Instructor Credential in Theater Arts & Related Technologies (valid for life).
