Position Overview

Are you interested in becoming a key resource in ensuring operational excellence at State Correctional Institution at Huntingdon? As a Human Resource Assistant 2, you will provide consultation to timekeepers, resolve highly unusual or sensitive time and payroll issues, and offer trusted guidance to staff and supervisors on a wide range of HR matters.
Responsibilities

Serve as the time advisor, responsible and accountable for the Time Administration Program.
Provide specialized direction, guidance, and analysis regarding SAP time issues to facility timekeepers, employees, supervisors, and managers.
Research and resolve various problems while providing solutions to payroll questions.
Ensure military orders are collected and transmitted to HR shared services.
Serve as the local Work Related Injury and SPF/FMLA liaison.
Facilitate training for timekeepers.
Conduct audits.
Process HR transactions.
Assist employees with benefits, leave, and onboarding needs.
Work Schedule and Additional Information

Full-time employment.
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework:

Opportunity to work from home part-time, up to 3 days bi-weekly, upon successful completion of a 6-month probationary period. Must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If unable to telework, option to report to the headquarters office at SCI Smithfield. Telework subject to change at any time.
Salary:

In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
Qualifications

One year as a Human Resource Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government title), or
One year of clerical or comparable experience and one year of beginning level paraprofessional human resource or equal opportunity work, or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
You must meet the

PA residency requirement.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
