NaphCare is hiring a Behavioral Health Mid-Level to join our team of medical and mental health professionals in the Bullock Department of Corrections in Union Springs, Alabama.
As a Behavioral Health Mid-Level, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical and mental health professionals to ensure regulatory compliance, manage budgets, supervise multidisciplinary clinical staff, and develop community partnerships to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. This is a unique position in a controlled environment where security is a top priority and duties are varied to engage you while serving a diverse population with complex mental health and medical needs.
Responsibilities
Defines department goals, develops policies, and oversees daily operations to improve mental health services.
Oversees treatment services, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and high standards of care.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as accreditation standards. Investigates critical incidents and manages risks.
Directs recruitment, hiring, training, and performance evaluation of clinical staff (social workers, counselors, therapists).
Prepares, manages, and oversees the department budget and ensures financial viability.
Collaborates with medical, mental health, and correctional staff to enhance quality patient care while maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
Monitors compliance with site-specific and company policies and procedures, taking corrective action and ensuring compliance with ACA, NCCHC standards.
Qualifications
Experience / Requirements / Qualifications / Skills
Education
A master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field
Active, unrestricted licensure as a (LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, LMHP, LISW, etc.) in Alabama
Active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association preferred)
Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in behavioral health, including clinical and administrative leadership in a mental health care or acute care setting; correctional healthcare experience preferred
Strong leadership, budgetary analysis, interpersonal, and communication skills
Effective communications skills for building patient rapport and relaying information and treatment plans with other medical and mental health care professionals
Strong organizational skills to track patient treatment plans and progress notes
Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and confidential information with integrity and professionalism; adhere to Code of Conduct and correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
