Job Description
Hillguard is a growing personal injury law firm dedicated to delivering exceptional legal support and results for our clients. We are seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Assistant to join our team and play a key role in supporting attorneys, managing case activity, and ensuring all litigation deadlines are handled accurately and efficiently.

Position Overview
This role is responsible for coordinating case activity, maintaining litigation calendars, preparing legal documents, and ensuring all deadlines and filings are handled accurately and timely. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

Communicate professionally with clients, experts, court personnel, and opposing counsel

Manage attorney calendars, including litigation deadlines, hearings, depositions, and court appearances

Review, scan, organize, and distribute incoming litigation documents and correspondence

Maintain electronic and physical case files to ensure accuracy and accessibility

Draft pleadings, CMC statements, OSC responses, deposition notices, minor’s comp actions, request for dismissals, and declarations

Post jury fees

File and serve all documents

Deposition and DME scheduling and coordination

Assist attorneys with trial preparation including document organization

Qualifications

Prior experience in a law firm or legal support role preferred in personal injury or litigation

Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks

Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and document processing

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently while also supporting a collaborative team environment

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with case‑management software is a plus

Professional, punctual, and dependable work ethic

Spanish speaking is PREFERRED.
