Responsibilities
Preparing the cardiac lab procedure rooms with adequate stock and working equipment, including instrument sterilization as required.
Preparing patient and equipment for cardiac lab procedures: site of entry, draping, arranging sterilized instruments and catheters, and calibrating and setting up pressure transducers and tubing.
Operating and ensuring quality control of all equipment used in the cardiac cath lab, and maintaining knowledge of related equipment.
Scrubbing in during procedures and assisting the physician in maneuvering catheters.
Obtaining and recording hemodynamic, electrical, and angiographic data by operating hemodynamic and electrical amplifiers and digital and line fluoroscopic equipment.
Monitoring the patient’s hemodynamic status during procedures in the cardiac cath lab.
Participating in life‑saving measures such as defibrillation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Radiologist or equivalent.
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
ARRT (R) – CI preferred or CCI‑RCIS certification.
State specific licensing as required.
Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods, and bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty.
