Description
40 hours/week
5 x 8-hour shifts
Hours: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM during the week and 2:00 PM–10:30 PM every 3rd weekend
On-call rotation
Responsibilities
Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
Administers contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring (as applicable).
Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
Identifies equipment performance issues and initiates follow-up through established service processes.
Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system, including exam setup, image routing, result availability, and charging accuracy.
Adheres to organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements.
Upholds quality and safety standards within diagnostic imaging, including radiation safety, MRI safety, and infection prevention measures applicable to the role.
Ensures a positive patient experience throughout care delivery.
Supports department initiatives to improve relationships, reliability, efficiency, and growth.
Supports additional responsibilities aligned with patient care and department needs.
Qualifications
Required:
Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiography (R)
Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Accreditation
Basic Life Support (BLS)
