Job Summary
Responsible for optimizing patient care by promoting rational, safe, and cost-effective drug therapy.
Essential Functions
Performs all duties associated with the Registered Pharmacist position within the scope of licensure.
Initiates and documents pharmacist interventions to change prescribing where required.
Participates in patient care rounds as appropriate.
Contributes to and participates in the departmental medication use evaluation plan, including but not limited to CMI (Clinical Management Initiatives).
Reviews current medical/pharmacy literature regularly for recent developments in disease state therapeutics as well as new product development.
Provides health professionals with drug information and/or references.
Qualifications
Education : Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
Experience: 0-1 year preferred; experience with computer word processing required; some experience with spreadsheets or databases and other computer software preferred.
Licenses and Credentials
Pharmacist [State License] - HR Only required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of pharmacy information systems, automated dispensing technology and personal computers.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong communication skills.
