Overview of the Payroll Specialist Role
Process payroll for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Maintain payroll records, manage deductions, and ensure timely and accurate tax filings
Respond to payroll inquiries from clients and employees, resolving discrepancies in a timely and professional manner
Stay up to date with changes in payroll laws and regulations
Collaborate with internal teams to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency
Assist with year‑end payroll reporting, including W‑2s and 1099s
Preferred Qualifications for the Payroll Specialist
3+ years of payroll processing experience (multi‑client or multi‑state experience preferred)
Strong understanding of wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
High attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
Excellent communication and customer service skills in a client‑facing environment
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced setting
